Accredited in since 2006, the Louvain School of Management at UCLouvain received an unconditional reaccreditation for five years from the Accreditation Board. The full accreditation acknowledges LSM on par with a select group of international business schools distinguished by their excellence in teaching, research and service to the society. The process, an in-depth self-assessment and progress reporting on strategic issues to address, involves also a three-day peer review audit on site. The reviewers in October 2019 praised specifically the academic quality and connection to practice in the LSM Masters programmes, the strong research orientation and the quality of faculty, the excellent international alliances (among others, CEMS and PIM) as well as the unique and solid ERS (ethics, responsibility, and sustainability) dimension in the School.
The accreditation is a recognition of the joint commitment around the LSM by professors, assistants, administrative staff, students, the LSM Advisory Council and alumni.
The LSM Dean, Prof Per AGRELL says “The five-year accreditation is a great reward for the hard and innovative work that the members in the faculty have invested in curriculum reforms, corporate partnerships, new specialisations, international faculty recruitment and communication. Teaming up with the rest of the UCLouvain, we have reinvented areas such as faculty workload management, valorisation of teaching assistants and course scheduling. But foremost, it shows the confidence and trust that the international reviewers and the Board show in our specific strategic position as a research-based international management school with a focus on excellence and ethics.”
The Rector of UCLouvain, Prof. Vincent BLONDEL, expresses his "deep appreciation and pride over the work accomplished by the personnel in the Louvain School of Management, the excellent preparation of the visit, the documentation and the many national and international projects and alliances that LSM bring to our University. The award of the accreditation is a prestigious proof of international recognition that contributes to the excellence of UCLouvain."
is the leading international system of Quality Assessment, Quality Improvement and Accreditation of Higher Education Institutions in management and business administration. Only 186 institutions worldwide have the accreditation, in Belgium five universities: UCLouvain/LSM, and have unconditional five-year accreditations and and have three-year accreditations.
