Main themes
This activity takes the form of a laboratory internship of 10 half-days. The internship takes place in a laboratory of the Health Sector of UCLouvain.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
1 | At the end of this activity, the student will be able to: 1.      Implement a set of simple experiments to answer a research hypothesis. 2.      Keep a laboratory notebook according to the standard procedures. 3.      Describe and interpret experimental results. 4.      Have a critical look at his/her results with respect to scientific literature. 5.      Write a scientific report. 6.      Present and defend orally the results obtained during the internship. |
Content
One-week immersive internship in a laboratory in the health sector.
Teaching methods
Accompanying seminars will train the student in the analysis, formatting and interpretation of experimental results as well as in the writing of an internship report.
Evaluation methods
Evaluation of the placement and presentation of the work by the host team (skills/acquired/attitudes, grade A). Assessment of the placement report (grade B) . The final grade is the weighted average of grades A and B.

The online resources are available on the course website moodle. They contain instructions for writing the internship report and the support of the proposed seminars for the reduction of the report.
