Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Understand the contribution of economics to the analysis of environmental problems Apply theoretical concepts in environmental economics by Analyzing an environmental problem with economic theories either in groups or individually and/or Presenting an application of economic analysis of environmental problems to other students.

Content

- Introduction to environmental economics and sustainable development
- Macroeconomics and the environment
- Microeconomics and the environment
- Economic evaluation of environmental projects
- Environmental policy instruments
- Economics of natural resources
- Global environmental challenges (subject to be decided by students)

Teaching methods

Formal lectures + thematic discussions

Evaluation methods

First session

• 15 points for the written exam in session
• 5 points for the global environment project (4 points for the test and 1 point for participation)
• 2 bonus points in class

Second session: oral exam with 2 questions
