Content
This course covers:
  • Listening comprehension exercises (on topics of everyday life and general interest) with various control exercises
  • Conversation exercises in which new vocabulary is used and discussion exercises based on everyday life
  • Pronunciation exercises
  • Learning of basic grammar chapters with fixation exercises
  • Use of texts for written and/or oral production
  • Presentation exercises in small groups
  • Interactive work with the teacher and/or other students in small groups

Evaluation methods
  1. Continuous assessment in Q1 and Q2 (20 % of the final grade)
  2. Written and oral examination in January and June (80 % of the final grade)
    Students who fail the written examination in January will be required to take a written examination in June covering the material from Q1 and Q2.
  3. For the August/September session: written exam (50 %) and oral exam (50 %)
    Students who have to sit the exam in the third session may choose to keep their continuous assessment mark for the oral exam, provided they have not failed this mark during the year.
