The B.A. program in art history and archaeology, general orientation, totals 180 credits spread over three annual blocks (3 x 60 credits). It comprises a 150-credit major and a 30-credit minor.
The bachelor's program has three main components:

1. optional training to consolidate a basic general culture (history courses by period, historical criticism, history of art and music, comparative approach to European literature, modern and ancient languages, philosophy, etc.);
2. a disciplinary program of 10 "Arts and Civilizations" courses covering the history of material and plastic productions from prehistory to the present day, including ancient civilizations, the Middle Ages and modern times.  This program also includes a course in the history of music.
3. disciplinary methodological training (introduction to research, techniques and materials, building archaeology, excavation techniques, iconology, museology, aesthetics, etc.).

The first year begins with a four-quarter period consisting mainly of general training courses, but also including a disciplinary methodological course with assignments and excursions. Disciplinary courses become the main focus of training in the second four-month period of the first year.                                                                                                                                    
From the second year onwards, students pursue their major while being invited to broaden their intellectual and professional horizons through a 30-credit minor to be chosen from a varied list of minors common to the EHAC School.
