Establish a partnership with UCL
The types of agreements between UCL and its partners throughout the world vary according to the goals targeted by the sought-after collaboration:
- Mobility partnerships target student – and sometimes staff – mobility residencies between UCL and the partner. Often initiated via interpersonal contacts, they’re concluded by the relevant faculty. To propose an agreement in a particular field, contact the faculty administrator in charge of mobility.
- Joint degree agreements involve organising a joint programme leading to a dual degree awarded by UCL and its international partner. They are reached and implemented by the relevant faculties and most often are an advanced form of collaboration with an already established partner of UCL.
- Institutional agreements formalise collaboration between UCL and its partner. Signed at the highest level, they offer visibility and recognition of pre-existing collaboration between staff, faculties, departments, research institutes, etc., and can be pursued via the International Relations Department.
Does a delegation from your institution want to visit UCL and meet its staff?
Please complete and return the ad hoc form to the International Relations Department and we will respond as soon as possible. Please be advised that preparing a visit requires four to six weeks of preparation.
Communicate with the International Relations Department
In support of the university community, the International Relations Department contributes to the conception and development of UCL’s international activity. Among other aspects, this includes:
- strategic monitoring of the internationalisation and globalisation of universities in order to maintain UCL’s membership among the elite;
- supporting faculties in mobility programme development (see above);
- monitoring UCL funding tools, such as competitions for doctoral scholarships, medical specialisation and UCL-Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) co-funding;
- providing information and support to UCL staff involved in university development cooperation projects funded by the French Community of Belgium’s Académie de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur (ARES);
- developing and supporting initiatives to enhance UCL’s attractiveness, mainly via UCL international recruitment and promotion.
