About Globalit

The Globalit Centre’s research is conducted within the Institute of Political Science Louvain-Europe (ISPOLE) and focuses on how globalisation affects literature and, more broadly, the cultural industry.

By advocating an interdisciplinary dialogue with political science and many other human science disciplines (such as anthropology, philosophy and sociology), Globalit encourages methodological and conceptual crossover, which promotes an innovative approach to the relationships between globalisation, literature and culture.

In this context, Globalit has a particular interest in how globalisation reshapes the landscape of the cultural industry (focal points, interdependencies and movements), how this phenomenon reconfigures the main elements of artistic creation (production, dissemination and reception), and how contemporary fiction conveys the imagery of globalisation (cultural hybrids, global referents and entire oeuvres).
