Faculty of Architecture, Architectural Engineering and Urban Planning (LOCI)
The inspiration behind this new university campus is placing the teaching of architecture in the urban and architectural context of the capital of Europe. Students and their professors carry on the more than century-old tradition of contributing to the life of the Brussels commune of Saint-Gilles. The faculty is located in the heart of a neighbourhood where historic art nouveau lines the streets like a remarkable urban tapestry. The vast 8,000-square-meter Raymond Lemaire Building, named for one of the designers of Louvain-la-Neuve and ‘architect’ of the Venice Charter, is the home of the faculty and the site of all of its educational, administrative and informational activities.
