Evaluation

The evaluation methods comply with the regulations concerning studies and exams (/fr/decouvrir/rgee.html). More detailed explanation of the modalities specific to each learning unit are available on their description sheets under the heading “Learning outcomes evaluation method”.

Ongoing evaluation is assured by the practical training supervisor and the results are passed on to the president of the committee by means of a special form. Annual evaluation is carried out on the basis of these forms and includes assessment of effective participation in the training (both university-based and organised by scientific firms).

Federal exams are organised by the Ministery of Public Health in the 2nd and 6th years of the programme (final exams). Further to the application of the Royal Decree of 16 March, 1999, at the end of the first two years of training, the candidate will receive an attestation proving that he has successfully accomplished a specific university training course.

Registration for the final exams is only authorised if the candidate has published an article and a paper in connection with the speciality. Upon fulfilment of the above-described training requirements, the teaching committee will award the academic title in Surgery.

This title does not replace official recognition by the ministerial validation committee. It attests the successful completion of an academic and scientific study programme in the context of specialised training leading to this validation.
