Introduction

Language and literature studies broaden the mind to the world. The objective is to provide you with a rigorous general education combined with linguistic and literary specialization.

At the end of the bachelor's degree, you will:

  •     Have acquired a strong general, literary, and historical culture.
  •     Have honed your writing and argumentation skills.
  •     Have developed literary sensitivity and the ability to comment on and interpret poetic, narrative, or dramatic texts.

Through a multidisciplinary curriculum, you will develop your communicative and critical analysis skills and be capable of interpreting cultural, literary, and linguistic phenomena of diverse and complex nature that address the challenges of the 21st century.

The Bachelor's program offers you:
 
  • General education in humanities (philosophy and contemporary history).
  • Core courses in linguistics, literature, and methodology, including two classes in English immersion (with pedagogical support).
  • Study of major periods and genres in French and Francophone literature in Belgium, combining literary theory, analysis of works, and extensive knowledge of texts.
  • Reflection on the history of the French language and its various states in the contemporary world, as well as practice in creative writing in French.
  • The choice between studying Spanish or Italian language and literature.
  • The possibility to deepen certain aspects of your education or explore other disciplines through a 20-credit option.
  • Introduction to research through a final cycle project, with strong methodological guidance.
