Le mot du Doyen

Louvain-La-Neuve, Mons

Dear partners,

Our academic year is about to come to an end. It has been exciting, demanding and full of promise.

On behalf of the Faculty, I would like to start by congratulating all our graduates. Well done for your hard work and tenacity. Success is never achieved by chance: it is the culmination of months or years of work. This is how the most beautiful pages are written. And that's why, to all those who will be resitting exams over the summer, I say: hold tight! Take the rest you need, but stay focused ... so that we can all meet again on 22 November for the Graduation Ceremony, which we see as the great LSM family celebration.

I would also like to thank all colleagues for their hard work this year. Together with all of the Faculty's driving forces, we have embarked on a number of key projects: improving our pedagogical practices (TwIMP), launching a Pedagogical Development Fund (FDP) to help students on their educational journey, putting in place a more coherent and inclusive international strategy, deepening and diversifying our links with corporate partners, strengthening our commitment to Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS), particularly as part of the 600th anniversary of UCLouvain/KULeuven, reforming the Bachelor Programmes, and preparing a LSM strategy for artificial intelligence. All these commitments will be at the heart of the EQUIS evaluation, which will take place from 13 to 15 November.

Our mission is clear: it is not only to diffuse knowledge of excellence and train the best management professionals. It is to shape the people who, rather than imposing a vision, will create the conditions for shared purpose and long-term action in a world in transition - tomorrow's enlightened and enlightening leaders. "Teach to Enlighten" is the way we phrase it, in the service of a vision that has always guided us: to be a world leader in responsible management education.

With this in mind, I wish you all a very happy end of the academic year. May our collective adventure, under the symbol of the sunflower, continue to thrive!
